Illinois emergency crews help a kayaker out of the frigid Wabash River this morning. It happened around 8:30 a.m. near Mt. Carmel. Witnesses called police after seeing someone struggling in the water. Once rescue crews arrived, they say a man clinging to the side of a kayak. Police say 29-year-old Heath Reed of Mt. Carmel was in the kayak when it flipped. Reed was able to make it to shore, where he was treated by emergency workers. He is not seriously hurt.
