The shift is on once again on the Twin Bridges. Wednesday was the first night of work on this second phase of a 22 million dollar painting and rehab project. Traffic will once again be rerouted at the busy river crossing. That means lane and speed restrictions just like we saw here last summer. This time painting will be on the southbound bridge and that will be reduced to one lane. Three lanes will open on the north bound bridge including one carrying southbound traffic. The same plan worked very well last summer and transportation officials say much of that success came thanks to cooperation from the 39 thousand drivers who cross there daily. Theyre hoping for the same cooperation this time as well. The two-way traffic on the northbound bridge isnt expected for several more days.
