Smoke Advisory For Drivers in Ohio County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has placed message boards along U.S. 62 in Ohio County to alert drivers that smoke could blow across the highway from time to time.
An old coal mine has what authorities call a coal sludge fire burning underground.
Transportation officials say smoke from the fire could cause a hazard for drivers and will restrict lanes in the area when necessary. Drivers who travel on U.S. 62 between Rockport and McHenry should use caution and be prepared for delays.
