Ramiele Malubay Ousted From "American Idol"
This wont be the year that an Asian-American wins "American Idol." On last nights elimination episode, the final two included Ramiele Malubay and Kristy Lee Cook.
Host Ryan Seacrest made the announcement that sent Malubay -- a 20-year-old Filipino-American from Miramar, Florida -- packing.
Shes the fourth Asian-American to make it to the top ten on "Idol." Jasmine Trias and Camile Velasco did it on the shows second season, while Sanjaya Malakar accomplished the feat last year.
Last nights show also featured a performance from country star Dolly Parton.
She coached the finalists during Tuesday nights competition, where the singers all tackled tunes from Dollys songbook.
Next week, "Idol" will put on its charity hat as the second "Idol Gives Back" special airs April 9th.
Big names lined up for the event include Mariah Carey, "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus, comedian Billy Crystal and actor Brad Pitt.
