26-year-old McManomy had been accused of slashing the face of Posey County Sheriff Deputy Dan Montgomery in February of 2011. Deputy Montgomery had been trying to serve an arrest warrant on McManomy at his parents' house, according to Deputy Prosecutor Jonathan Parkhurst.
When Montgomery and an Indiana State Trooper approached McManomy, he allegedly resisted, then cut his own throat.
Parkhurst says McManomy cut the deputy on the face after he was tased.
McManomy was found guilty on counts of attempted murder, aggravated battery, battery with a deadly weapon, and resisting law enforcement.
"This was a great win on behalf of law enforcement in Posey County," Parkhurst told Eyewitness News.
The prosecution and defense counsels are expected to set a tentative sentencing date in the coming days.
