911 Gives Hope Delivers Gifts to Hospitalized Children

Volunteers pay special visits to hospitalized children with some special gifts. The 911 Gives Hope Charity delivered collected toys to children in five different local hospitals today. The fourth annual event once again filled a 53 foot trailer with toys, clothing, and gift certificates. Evansville Police officers were among the volunteers who delivered the toys.

"We couldn't think of anyone that was more deserving at Christmas time," said EPD Officer Patrick Phernetton, "or any other time than kids that are stuck in the hospital. And if this eases their pain or their tention for just a little bit, then it's worth the effort."

Townsquare Media, Henderson Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office also helped distribute the gifts.
