UPDATE: Authorities release the names of three people killed after a truck crashed into an Evansville house early Sunday morning.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner identified the homeowners as Homer Meriwether, 75, and Lela Mrriwether, 74.  They were killed after the truck driven by Thomas Hodgson, 24, of Newburgh crashed into their house on South Norman Avenue.  All three were pronounced dead at the scene.  EPD Sgt. Jim Magary says the Meriwethers were in the bedroom at the time of the crash, which happened around 2:15 AM.  Police say Hodgson lost control of his truck, a 1996 Chevy GK1, struck a guardrail and became airborne before crashing into the house.  The crash is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, neighbors and friends remember the Meriwethers are caring, loving people.  "They came to our house when our neighbor had a heart attack," says Rhonda McGill.  "He came up here and checked on him on a daily basis.  He was just a very sweet guy."

Evansville Police say three people are dead after a truck loses control and strikes a home early Sunday Morning. EPD says the truck was traveling eastbound on Riverside Drive, lost control, struck a guardrail before it became airborne and crashed into a home on South Norman Avenue.  Eyewitness News has a crew on the scene working to gather more information. We will have more details on Eyewitness News at 6.
