The new Congress will have 20 female Senators, the most ever in US history. It will also have the fewest number of military veterans since WWII.
Illinois Senator Mark Kirk, who suffered a major stroke 11 months ago, and has not cast a vote since, is expected to make a dramatic return, perhaps walking up the Capitol steps.
And, for the first time, there will be an all-female delegation from a state (New Hampshire)
