Indiana's Chief Justice is urging Democratic and Republican lawmakers to work out their own differences still lingering from two straight years of legislative walk-outs. The State Supreme Court heard arguments this morning in a dispute over the collection of fines a majority Republicans imposed on House Democrats, who took part in boycotts in 2011 and 2012. At the end of the hearing, the judge said the dispute was political and urged both sides to reach a compromise. Lawyers for the Indiana Attorney General's Office and Democratic legislators who filed the lawsuit say they think both sides will be willing to talk.
