Officials want $7.1 million in damages from the shipping company operating a cargo ship that hit the Eggner's Ferry Bridge. The claim by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is the largest lawsuit. Several businesses and residents of western Kentucky are also filing claims. You may remember that crash caused the Eggner's Ferry Bridge to collapse into the Tennessee River. The company has asked a federal judge to rule it was not responsible for causing the collapse.
