Some big changes are on the way for Evansville's residents concerning trash and recycling.
This Monday, the city of Evansville will begin automating the trash and recycling service for all residents.
Trash and recycling will now be collected in large plastic bins provided by the city - one for trash and another for recycling.
Allied Waste Services will begin delivering the new bins on Monday.
"It's going to take some time period to get all these delivered," Ed Ziemer with the Water and Sewer Department said. "So, they're going to be delivering them for the first three months of the year. Some people won't see the effects of the program for a month or so."
Officials say they expect the program to be fully implemented later this year.
The schedule for trash and recycling will not change, with recycling still being picked up every other week.
