President Obama Signs a Superstorm Sandy Aid Package into Law

It was delayed by the fiscal cliff debate in Washington.
But Sunday, President Obama signed into law a Superstorm Sandy aid package.
The bill includes more than nine-billion dollars to help the government pay flood insurance claims.
It was the first legislative action of the new Congress, after the previous session shelved a vote last week on a much larger assistance plan for storm victims.
Lawmakers will weigh in on more than 50-billion dollars in additional Sandy aid later this month.
