In Newburgh at St. Mary's Convenient Care Clinic, doctors say their waiting rooms have been busier than last year with five to ten people a day coming in with the flu. And although the flu season is underway, you're still advised to go in and get a shot.
"If you have ten epople who have the flu," said Dr. John Myers, "two of them might not be sick at all. Two or three might be sick for a day or two, but four or five are gonna be hammered, sick for a week, aches, chills missing work. Those are the ones who come in to see me, those are the ones who get the medicine and those are the ones convinced the flu shot is worth a try next year."
St. Mary's says it's seeing patients of all ages. The best method doctors say in prevention is washing your hands and staying away from anyone who might be sick.
