Owensboro Middle School Named Apple Distinguished School

One Owensboro school is recognized for its use of digital technology in the classroom. Owensboro Middle School is named an Apple Distinguished School for the 2012-2013 school year. The school is among 87 schools that Apple has recognized nationwide as learning centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. Students have been using Apple MacBook Air laptops to help them with their school work.
"We noticed how innovative this school has been in terms of implementation," said Assistant Superintendent Matthew Constant, "and Apple has too. So, we filled out the application to become a distinguished school, and we were awarded just fairly recently."
Faculty members are surprised with the announcement today during a meeting at Owensboro Middle School's North campus.
