Delay in Tax Return Processing

The delay comes as a result the Fiscal Cliff legislation passed by Congress on New Year's Day. The feds will process most returns on January 30th, about a week later than they first thought.
Had the delay been longer, it would have put a wrinkle in the plans of those who file early to get those refunds right away.
