The fundraiser will be a dinner and reception to raise money for an endowment to the center and increase outreach.
Senator Ford served as chairman of Clinton's first inauguration in 1993. He was also the Democratic Whip during Clinton's first six years in office.
"We've been friends for a long time," Ford said. "I worked awful close to him because I thought what he was doing for government was the right way to go. When I called and asked him, he said if you can wait until March the 6th, I'll be there."
This will be Clinton's third trip to Owensboro. While President, he visited Audubon Elementary and Moonlite Bar-B-Q in 2000. And in 2008, he visited Kentucky Wesleyan College while campaigning for Hillary Clinton's presidential run.
The funraiser will be at Riverpark Center in downtown Owensboro. Tickets to the event are now on sale through the Owensboro Museum of Science and History at 1,000 per person. Table and event sponsorships are also available for purchase.
