Loud Boom Still Baffling Tri-Staters

It seems like everyone has a theory about the mysterious booms heard in the night. From UFO's to sonic waves. But could the explanation be more earthly? One local store owner says explosives could be the culprit. Bob Hinton actually knows two guys who caused a commotion setting them off in another county, "The sheriff of that county was looking for and trying to find out, because he had gotten calls, 'what was that?'"
This little plastic jar gives target shooters a big boom for their buck. At seven bucks a pop, some people use more than one. "Some of them will actually mix two or three canisters together, plus they sell larger canisters as well, just to see what kind of bang they can get out of it," says Hinton.
Although the explosion is short lived, Hinton says for some, it's worth it, "It's just a shock effect. It's cool, you can set it under a bucket and see how high the bucket flies." But could this little can be responsible for causing such a big commotion? If so, one reason it's leaving the Tri-State baffled is because the evidence is blown to smithereens.
