Senator Ford served as chairman of clinton's first inauguration in 1993. He was also the democratic whip during clinton's first six years in office.
"We've been friends for a long time," said Ford. "I worked awful close to him because I thought what he was doing for government was the right way to go. When I called and asked him, he said if you can wait until March 6, I'll be there."
This will be Clinton's third trip to Owensboro. While President, he visited Audubon Elementary and Moonlite Bar-B-Q in 2000. In 2008, he visited Kentucky Weslyan College, while campaigning for Hillary Clinton's Presidential run.
The fundraiser will be at Riverpark Center in downtown Owensboro. Tickets to the event are now on sale through the Owensboro Museum of Science and History. Tickets cost $1,000 a piece.
