Police say they found the remnants of a meth lab in an employee restroom behind the junior high last December. Shafer was arrested shortly after that and charged with possession of methamphetamines.
A plea deal may be in the works for a man believed to be responsible for a meth lab at Wood Memorial Junior-Senior High School. Michael Shafer was arrested about a year ago. He was scheduled to go to trial later this month. But during a hearing in Gibson Superior Court, Shafer indicated he may be willing to plead guilty. That hearing is set for January 22.
