Dryer Lint the Cause of Mt. Vernon House Fire

We now know the exact cause of the deadly Mt. Vernon house fire on January 4. The fire chief tells us a piece of lint ignited in the dryer vent. The investigation shows lint built up in the hose. The dryer was not running when the fire ignited but had been earlier that night. 28-year-old Amanda Robb, her 5-year-old daughter Aubrey, and 15-year-old Bailey Robb died in the fire.
Donations for the surviving members of the Robb family did not come up short. Organizers filled up a box truck and a van with items like clothes, diapers, and household furniture.
