US & World Summary --- Over 200 Removed From Texas Compound By Authorities (San Angelo, TX) -- More than 200 people who are said to be at risk of sexual and physical abuse have been removed from a cult compound in Texas. The number includes both boys and girls as well as adults, according to Texas Department of Family & Protective Services. The compound is owned by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which practices polygamy and was once led by the self-described and now-jailed prophet Warren Jeffs. --- Annual Airline Report: Customer Complaints Soar Major U.S. airlines are eagerly awaiting todays release of the annual Airline Quality Rating Report. The report focuses on four key areas of customer satisfaction including on-time arrivals, mishandled luggage, passengers bumped from flights and customer complaints. Its viewed as the countrys most comprehensive airlines study. ABC News is reporting that customer complaints skyrocketed for 15 of the 16 biggest airlines and that last year was one of the worst ever for passengers. --- Hillary Clintons Campaign Chief Steps Down (Washington, DC) -- Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clintons chief campaign strategist is stepping down. "The Wall Street Journal" reports Mark Penn has resigned due to a conflict of interest between his public relations company and Clintons campaign. Penn attempted to gain congressional approval for a trade deal between the U.S. and Colombia, a deal which Clinton opposes. --- Police Call Cedar Fest Violence A Riot (East Lansing, MI) -- The clean up continues from weekend violence and rioting near Michigan State Universitys campus. Police in East Lansing say there was no other way besides the use of tear gas to control a mob of some four-thousand people who took to the streets during whats known as Cedar Fest. It took five separate law enforcement agencies, including MSU Police, and Michigan State Police, to control a crowd that apparently consumed a fair amount of beer, and was urging police to "tear-gas" them, according to witnesses. Officials say all suspects arrested will be arraigned this morning. --- Shooting Of Woman After Church Now Investigated As Murder-Suicide (Chicago, IL) -- Chicago police say a man who killed a 22-year-old woman after a church service last night later took his own life near Lake Michigan. Witnesses say the man pulled up, exchanged words with the victim, and shot her. News Affairs Spokesman David Banks says officers found the suspected gunman dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound around 9:30 p.m. Authorities believe the man, who was in his 30s, was the victims ex-boyfriend. Officers found a gun in the lake near his body. --- South Floridians Waking Up To A Rainy Monday (Miami, FL) -- Rainy weather is making for a slow commute in South Florida this morning. Strong thunderstorms and heavy downpours have led the National Weather Service to issue an Urban Flood Advisory for the entire region. Some of the heaviest rains have been reported in South Beach where more than three-inches have fallen since midnight. Heavy winds have also been a problem with several areas reporting downed tree branches and power lines. According to Florida Power and Light, more than 56-hundred customers in Miami-Dade County are without electricity while 300 customers in Broward are in the dark. Forecasters say the rainy conditions will stick around for much of the morning. --- Eli Manning Set To Wed NFL star Eli Manning will soon be a married man. The "New York Post" reports the 27-year-old Giants quarterback will tie the knot with his 24-year-old college sweetheart Abby McGrew sometime in the next few weeks. Manning and the soon-to-be missus were reportedly spotted picking up a marriage license last week at the Manhattan Municipal Building.
