A police officer is hit by a car during a traffic stop in Muhlenberg County. It happened on Kentucky 189 in Greenville around noon. Investigators say Greenville's police chief stopped to assist another officer, who had a car pulled over. A car approaching the traffic stop tried to go around the officers, but was hit by an on-coming car. The crash sent one of the vehicles into the police cruiser, hitting Chief Darren Harvey's leg. The officers were not hurt, but three people were taken to the hospital to be checked out.
