Evansville Water Bills Undergoing Changes

Evansville water customers will soon notice a change in their water bill.
Over the next few weeks, the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will start rolling out reformatted bills. The biggest differences customers will notice is that the postcards will be printed in mostly black and blue ink. Also, beginning in February, some customers will notice their bill arriving on a new date. Utility officials say, despite that change, the time frame in which meters are read will not change.
The new schedule could, however, cause some problems at first. According to the utility, January and February bills will be sent within a few days of each other, which could cause a financial strain for some customers. For that reason, the utility says it will work with customers on making payment arrangements, and will postpone disconnect notices until April, as needed.
Customers with questions are encouraged to contact the water utility at 812-436-7846.

Chuck- I have been paying online for almost two years. There's a link on the homepages for both Evansville and for Vanderburgh County. http://evansvillegov.org/ Pulldown on the right marked "Online Payments". Seems to be down for maintenance today, but this article would explain it.

I am wondering why the water dept. hasn't made it possible were you can pay on line. Almost everyone like insight and vectren and other companies have it were you can pay on line . Looks like it would be more efficient for everyone concerned. So they are just changing the cards and its going to be a nuisance and I guess make the customer have a higher bill . Hopefully they will get with the 21st century and start doing the bill paying on line . .
