Some Dubois County officials receive a settlement in a class action lawsuit. The Ferdinand Water Department received $20,423.43 to help reimburse costs of removing atrazine from its water system. Atrazine is a weed killer sprayed on crops that frequently runs into waterways used as drinking water. The Ferdinand Water Department closed its water treatment plant in October 1998 and began purchsing water wholesale from Patoka Lake Regional Water.
