Residents living on Vann Avenue are concerned about gangs and safety in their neighborhood after a Sunday morning shooting.

Evansville Police say two people, ages 18 and 20, were shot around 1:00 AM.  They believe the shooting stems from a dispute between members of the L.A. Zombies street gang and another group of people.  Some residents, like Muriel Schmitt, says gang's have been a growing problem in recent years in her neighborhood.

"There's too many, too much activity going on in the parking lot," she says.  "I've seen plenty of people fighting, choking, and taking off running."

But others, like Kenny Bush, say they're not as big a problem as others believe.

"You don't see a lot of tags on the buildings here like you do in other parts of town," he says.

Evansville Police also say they're not getting much cooperation from the shooting victims, but they'll still pursue a criminal recklessness case against anyone who fired shots during the incident.
