Heavy Trash Pick-Up Scheduled

The Spring Heavy Trash pick-up for residents of Evansville began Monday, April 14. This service is provided to all those who pay for refuse pick-up on their water bills. Allied Waste will again be doing the pick-up, under contract to the City through the Water & Sewer Utility. The cycle will begin on the east side of Evansville and work across the city. Each area or neighborhood will have one (1) day for pick-up. Items need to be set out by 6:00 a.m. on the designated pick-up day. Residents can check their date by going to www.evansvillegis.com and selecting Heavy Trash Pick-Up Dates. An icon bar is located at the left side of the screen. ITEMS TO BE INCLUDED:
Large items including, but not limited to: Furniture, Appliances,* Electronics, Sofas, Stoves, Televisions, Tables, Refrigerators , Stereos, Chairs, Washing Machines, Mattresses, Clothes Dryers, Box Springs, Water Heaters
*Limit of 2 (two) of each appliance per household.
Carpet must be rolled in widths no longer than 4 ft. and no bigger than 2 ft in diameter.
Heavy Trash piles must be manageable and organized.
Building Materials/Construction Debris Must be in trash cans, boxes, etc. and of such size that they can be reasonably be lifted by two average adults.
Containers shall be strong enough so that they do not break apart while being lifted even if they are wet. No concrete blocks or steel poles.
Privacy fence sections must be cut in half or smaller manageable size.
ITEMS TO BE EXCLUDED:
Any trash that Allied Waste would pick up as part of its residential waste collection contract.
• Automobile parts / Batteries
• Tires
• Hazardous materials
• No Computers or Accessories
     Heavy trash material should be placed where normal weekly pick-up is collected. All items must be set out before 6:00AM on the scheduled day. We must stress that if heavy trash does not meet these requirements, it will not be picked up. After your assigned day has been completed and if you feel you have been missed, you have 2 (two) days to call in for a possible missed scheduled pick up.
