The Tri-State has one less movie theater. The Harmonie Haus Movie Theater in New Harmony closes its doors. Owners attempted changes at the theater last year to make it profitable, but that was apparently not successful.

However, the building will not sit empty. "Events of Harmonie" will run a wedding planning and travel agency out of the building. Owners say the theater remains in tact for private parties and concerts.

"We hope to keep many things happening here," said Robin Risley of Events of Harmonie, "book discussion, movie reviews through the library. They have certain permits that will allow them to show movies that they own."

The Harmonie Haus opened its doors as a theatre about a decade ago.
