Perry County Under State of Emergency

The Perry County Board of Commissioners has issued a state of emergency due to icy conditions.
Commissioners issued the declaration Friday morning, after a round of frozen precipitation covered many roads in a layer of ice. Board members say county workers have been unable to keep the roadways clear for safe travel.
Roads are not being closed, however, all resident are being asked to refrain from travel unless absolutely necessary.
