Another east side Evansville building is torn down. Crews spent the day demolishing the old Trinity Wesleyan Church near the intersection of Lloyd Expressway and Highway 41. The building is being torn down to make way for the new cloverleaf at the interchange.

The church was built in 1931, but the church sold the building to the state and moved out more than a year ago. Some of the members made their way back to watch the demolition.

"It's difficult for some of them to eventually see this," said church member Don Simpson, "although we have known it was going to happen. A building has a life span. It's erected, it starts, people work out of it, and ministry happens. Now, we are at the end of that cycle, and there's a lot of emotion also tied up in that experience."

The church has a temporary home on Vogel until members move into a new facility.
