Looking Back on Crippling Ice Storm

Areas north of Evansville were covered in six to 12 inches of snow, but the state that took the hardest hit was Kentucky. In fact, it's known as the worst natural disaster in the Bluegrass State's history.
Much of the state was covered with up to two inches of ice. Many Kentucky homes were without power for weeks. Even hospitals and emergency management organizations struggled to stay open.
The storm tore down power lines, and much of the state's electrical grid had to be rebuilt.
