A pilot made an emergency landing near Boonville. It happened around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, across from Boonville Junior High School near State Road 62. Indiana State Police say the pilot, 65 year old Reggie Long, took off from Boonville airport and minutes later noticed an unusual vibration. Investigators say Long didnt think his 1995 experimental aircraft could make it back to the airport so he landed in the field. Sgt. Todd Ringle says the landing gear was damaged and the plane suffered a small gas leak. Neither Long nor his 78 year old passenger Thomas Hauck were hurt. Both of them were buckled in.
