If you're planning to claim certain education credits on your taxes, make sure you do your homework.
Those taking advantage of the American Opportunity Tax Credit or the Lifetime Learning Credit, won't be able to file until mid-February. That's about 14-million taxpayers who will have to wait longer for a refund.
Other education benefits like tuition and fees, and student loan interest deductions, can still be claimed starting tomorrow, which is when tax season opens for most people.
