Gun supporters say now is the time, otherwise, constitutional carry without restrictions may go into effect.
One lawmaker says in order to carry a firearm, residents should be required to carry an i.d. and be over 21. Under that plan, those who carry would have to undergo four hours of certified gun safety training.
Guns wouldn't be allowed in schools or government buildings, and businesses would get to decide if they wanted to let people carry on their property.
