Indiana and the nation can't stop talking about this story. An Indianapolis area couple could face jail time for helping nurse a baby deer back to health. New today, Indiana Governor Mike Pence is now weighing in on the situation.

Jennifer and Jeff Counceller could be serving time for nursing Danni the deer back to health. The couple kept the deer penned up for nearly two years planning to release it into the wild once healthy again. But their plans shortly changed after a conservation officer discovered the deer and sought to have it killed for breaking laws against owning a wild animal. The deer mysteriously disappeared, and now a DNR officer has filed a report against the couple. This Danni the deer case has received tons of attention as the Governor of Indiana himself is now involved after the couple reached out for help.

"At this time it appears that our conservation officers acted in a manner that was consistent with the law," said Governor Pence. "But we're going to take a look at it and the value of that, and I look forward to that in the coming days."

This case has stirred up the social media with a Facebook page that has gathered around 30,000 'likes' in just five days to help fund representation for the Counsellers and Danni the deer. House Speaker Brian Bosma has weighed in too saying he would like Governor Pence to pardon the couple.
