Update: The Union County Coroner says a Uniontown man who died in a house fire early Wednesday died of smoke inhalation.
Firefighters found Bryon Pembertons body near a side door.
Pembertons home caught fire around 2:00 Wednesday morning.
The Coroner says he believes the death will eventually be ruled an accident, but he is waiting on toxicology tests to come back to see if alcohol may have been a factor.
Reported 4/09/08:
Heavy smoke filled an entire block on 5th street in Uniontown, KY in the early morning hours of Wednesday. When crews from three fire departments made their way inside the burning home, the found the body of 33 year old Bryon Pemberton. He was lying on the floor near the homes side door.
Neighbors call Pemberton a good man, an animal lover, and a good person to live near. They said he always took time to speak to kids in the neighborhood, and would always look after their homes when they were out of town.
The cause of the blaze remains a mystery, and is under investigation by the state fire marshals office. An autopsy on Pemberton is scheduled for Thursday in Lousiville.
