Once a victim of bullying, a former Miss Teen America is in the Tri-State reaching out to kids in a unique way. Katie Himes founded "Bully Bashers" more than a year ago. With a little music, some dancing, and role-playing, Himes and her team try to help teens understand how to prevent bullying or cope with it if they have been on the other end. "Bully Bashers" put on quite a presentation today at Heritage Hills Middle School.

"It's okay to be different whatever you do makes you unique," said Himes. "I do pageants. That's not really common. I sing opera. That's not really common, but it's something I love to do. And if I had let people tear me down for that, I wouldn't be the person that I am. So, don't ever give up on something you love to do no matter how strange other people might think it is."

"Bully Bashers" is a non-profit organization. To learn more about it, check their website www.bullybashers.com
