Indiana Democratic leaders in the General Assembly are seeking expanded Medicaid coverage. They argue it will lower health care costs statewide. House and Senate minority leaders say Indiana risks becoming uninsured as other Republican-led states approve federal expansion. Governor Mike Pence announced this week he will oppose an expansion unless the state's health saving accounts plan is approved as an alternative. Opponents of the Medicaid expansion say it would cost the state too much money.
