Three suspects from an early morning shooting in Evansville are still on the loose. Police believe two men and a woman shot 26 year old Travis Smith inside his home. Officers were called to the 2200 block of Pollack Avenue around 4:30 Monday morning. Smith was shot and taken to Saint Mary's. Investigators say this was not a random act of violence. It was an abrupt awakening for some living near this shooting scene on Pollack Avenue. "We turned on the news a little bit later, she got up to go to work and that's when we heard about it" says Martin Mabrey who lives nearby. "I looked out my bedroom window and I saw about five cop cars and they were all lined up" says Jack Likens whose home is just feet away. He says he's uneasy about the crime happening so close to where he lays his head. "We've got a security system so it's a little relief knowing we've got that, being that this happened so close to home." "I am surprised how many times that we've experienced some sort of shooting or violence in this area in the last five years" is what Fairlawn United Methodist church Pastor Pat Jackson tells us. Fairlawn is yards from the scene. Jackson believes evil is winning in society and faith is disappearing. "Go into that area, go to that house, pray together, reclaim this part of the city for the kingdom of god." EPD says this incident like many others are crimes by association. The shooting victim tells investigators a woman was visiting the home, let the two male suspects inside, Smith was shot, a cell phone and ten dollars were taken. Pastor Pat as he goes by has a message those causing the violence, "God is in charge, don't let anyone tell you any differently, that there is hope, there is a future, there's love and joy out there, we just need to find it." EPD set up a perimeter this morning along with bringing out a k-9, the suspects are facing armed robbery charges. Officials say Smith is facing non-life threatening injuries.
