Here in the western world, we celebrate our new year on January 1st.  But in far eastern culture, its a little different.

The Chinese New Year is Sunday, and members of the Tri-State Chinese Culture Association are celebrating.

One event at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church featured a show that highlights some of the great things about Chinese culture, followed by a dinner celebration with traditional Chinese dishes.

If you're wondering, 2013 is the year of the snake.  According to Wikipedia, the snake symbolizes intelligence, with a tendency to be a bit unscrupulous.

Great event. If the reporter had come earlier, he wold have seen the gorgeous dragon dance, ribbon dance and fashion show, kungfu show and yo-yo, kids performance of Yellow River, etc. Anyway, thank you for coming and reporting this! Happy Chinese New Year!
