Kentucky House Committee Votes in Favor of Raising High School Dropout Age

A House panel says "yes" to the idea of raising Kentucky's school dropout age. Under current law, students can drop out of school when they are 16. The proposal would eventually raise that age to 18. The House Education Committee voted overwhelmingly in favor. It now goes to the full House, where it has easily won approval in the past. The measure has died in the Senate in recent years.
