Sunday Alcohol Sales Proposal Dies in Statehouse

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: February 13, 2013
The issue of Sunday alcohol sales in Indiana has stalled again at the Statehouse.

Rep. Bill Davis tells Indianapolis TV station WRTV that there will be no more hearings on the proposal.

This may come as good news to some liquor store owners who say lifting the Sunday ban would make it hard for them to compete with chain stores.  But the Indiana Retail Council says the ban is unfair and costs the state nearly $9 million in revenue.
