Drug testing for those who get welfare has been a hot topic for years but could soon be a reality for thousands of Hoosiers. A bill making its way through the legislature would require anyone who applies for state welfare, complete a written test about any possible drug abuse problems. Those identified as possible users would then have to take a traditional drug test. The bill's sponsor says it would help not only those who have drug problems, but would also improve the home environment for children.
