Teacher Reportedly Suspended Over Gay Comments

The southwest Indiana teacher who said gays have no purpose in life has apparently been suspended.

The Superintendent in Sullivan County issued a statement, saying a teacher was placed on administrative leave.  The teacher was not specifically identified, but special education teacher Diana Medley's comments have circulated widely on social networking sites amid news coverage of an alternative prom at a nearby school that would ban gay students.

Medley has not publicly comment on the story.

A local TV reporter asked Diana Medley if she thought Gay people had a purpose in life. Her response was, "No I honestly don't. Sorry, but I don't. I don't understand it." You can see the interview HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_Z7OfxzUJc Ms. Medley says students come to her with their problems. Does she fancy herself to be a counselor? As a counselor myself, I would say Diana Medley is a complete and utter embarrassment to the counseling profession. As counselors we are called to manage our own discomfort, be empathetic and nonjudgmental, and focus on the emotional needs to our clients. THIS woman, on the other hand, would be better suited behind the pulpit, preaching hellfire and damnation. If anyone wonders why so many LGBT youth end up taking their own lives, they need look no further than Diana Medley.
