Construction Costs for Blue Bridge Lower than Expected

A pleasant surprise for Kentucky transportation officials as they open bids to repaint Owensboro's Blue Bridge. The low bid for the work came in at just over $10 million. Engineers had estimated the work would cost more than $20 million. Officials will review the bid before officially awarding the work. That process should take a little over a week. Preliminary work on the bridge could start within a month. It is scheduled to close in mid-May.
