Autopsy Shows Murdered Evansville Woman Was Stabbed

EVANSVILLE - The autopsy results are in for an Evansville woman found dead by her sister Friday morning in their apartment.

Police were called to the 200 block of West Michigan Street early Friday morning. The victim, Toni Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Autopsy results reveal Smith died from a stab wound. Police believe her nephew, David Royalty murdered her.

In addition to killing Smith, police believe royalty took money out of her billfold.

Police do not know why royalty allegedly stabbed his aunt.

Their investigation continues.
