Kentucky Officials Reducing Speed on Ohio County Highway

By: Chris Veech
Updated: February 26, 2013
State officials plan to reduce the speed limit on one highway in Ohio County. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says it wants to reduce the speed from 55 to 45 along a one mile section of U.S. 231 between Beaver Dam and Hartford. They also want to add signs warning of a congested area. Two fatal crashes in the area over the last three years prompted local officials to request a safety review.
