The head of the Kentucky House Agriculture Committee is greeted with a chorus of "boo's" as he adjourns a meeting without taking a vote on an industrial hemp proposal. The bill would legalize the crop in the commonwealth if the federal government also gives the okay. Chairman Tom McKee says he only wants to give the University of Kentucky permission to study the crop. He does not yet want farmers to be able to grow it. No word on when or if the committee will vote on the issue.
