The best year in the last five. That's the outlook for Evansville's real estate market. F.C. Tucker hosted the State of Real Estate at the Victory Theatre tonight downtown. And while office spaces and industries are expanding, one particular bright spot in Evansville looks to be downtown.

"We've got the new hotel coming next to the Ford Center," said F.C. Tucker President Ken Newcomb. "We've got stuff going on at the McCurdy. We've got the new hotel at the River House, and the main attraction is the IU Medical Center. That is going to be a boom to Evansville, and not only Evansville but the Tri-State economy."

Newcomb says investors had been waiting for congress to make concrete moves towards some type of economic growth. But after years of gridlock, Newcomb says companies are tired of waiting and ready to expand.
