Evansville Police say they've arrested a woman who stole more than two thousand dollars worth of items from two different hotels within a week.

Officers say 57-year-old Linda Meredith took several items from the Clarion Inn on Highway 41, after being asked to leave for violating the hotel's smoking policy.

Missing items included towels, a coffee maker, soap dishes, candles, glasses and coffee mugs. She's also accused of taking dishes and silverware.  Police say they arrested Meredith after she returned to the hotel several hours later.

Officers say Meredith was also arrested on February 28th, after trying to purchase twelve hundred dollars worth of items from  the Casino Aztar Hotel Gift Shop, with a credit card that only had a five cent balance.
