Man Killed in Overnight Industrial Accident

UPDATE: Evansville fire officials have identified the victim as 43-year-old Newgene Pike of Evansville.

PREVIOUS: A man is dead after an industrial accident at the Purina Mills factory in Evansville.

Police say the call came in shortly after 2 Wednesday morning of a man stuck in equipment at the plant in the 21-hundred block of Lynch Road.  A co-worker apparently found him the victim.

Authorities say a rope rescue team had to be used to get the man out, but he died on the scene.

His name has not been released, but we are told he was in his 40's.
